Costes Downtown is a modern fine dining restaurant in the heart of downtown Budapest.It opened in 2015 on the ground floor of the Prestige Hotel, seven years after the debut of Costes Group’s first Michelin-starred restaurant.Since 2016, it has been listed in the Michelin Guide every year.Our young and dynamic team aims to offer light, friendly and elegant service to those who want a less formal but full fine dining experience.

For us, the three most important things are quality, sustainability and a commitment to perfection. Our aim is to invite our guests on an unforgettable gastronomic journey through creativity and innovation, while respecting tradition.

To this end, our dishes are made with the highest quality artisanal ingredients, including mangalica from local farms, game meat from the Nógrád Wildlife Park or vegetables grown by the association of farmers in the Budapest area.

The experience is made even more special by our dishes inspired by international, mainly Asian, cuisine techniques and the exclusive ingredients used.

THE CHEF

Despite his young age, our chef Márk Molnár has already reached a master level. Over the past two decades, he has worked in some of the world’s finest restaurants and gained his global experience in top gastronomic establishments on several continents. He has lived for years in Tokyo, Barcelona, London, Dubai, Miami and Saigon.

In Spain, he worked alongside Ferran Adria at the 3 Michelin-starred restaurant “El Bulli”, located in a small bay on the Costa Brava and voted several times as the best restaurant in the world. He also spent several years at other 3 Michelin-starred restaurants, such as Martin Berasategui in San Sebastian and Pavillon de Le Doyen and Taillevent in Paris. In Tokyo, he honed his skills under chef Chikara Yamada and has since continued to use the special techniques of Japanese cuisine to great effect.
